We’ve stayed at Shem Creek Inn for a few days after Christmas for 15 years - and we love it more every year. You just can’t beat Shem Creek Inn - the hospitality of the staff, beautiful location and views and the lights at night on Shem Creek ! We are asked - Don’t you get tired of the same place year after year ? Our answer - Not even a little bit ! It’s our haven and refuge after the hustle and bustle of Christmas - peace and quiet - and oh my goodness - did i mention the lights on the creek ! Robbie and her staff are the best anywhere !

I was so delighted to see all the great reviews from some of our previous guests. It is an honor to manage such a unique property and work with such outstanding employees.

If you are looking for a hotel that offers a warm welcome with a “family” atmosphere please try us on your next visit to the Charleston area.

It’s an amazing thing to watch the dolphin play in the waters of Shem Creek and a historical moment when you see the Shrimp Boats arrive with their catch from that day whether it’s shrimp or blue crab.

The marsh view rooms offer an abundance of water fowl activity that add to the ambiance of Shem Creek and the lowcountry experience.

We pride ourselves in creating a memorable experience for our guests and it shows by the reviews we’ve received on this site.

We look forward to seeing you in the near future.

We visited Shem Creek Inn for the first time while celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We chose this place because of the location and from info on the internet. We had a wonderful visit! We had a king room with garden tub and wrap around balcony. The view from the room was very lovely. The room was clean and neat - very spacious! We saw dolphins every day and loved watching all the boats come by. The breakfast had a variety and was very fresh. The employees were really great! They went out of their way to make our stay very pleasant and were always willing to give us info about the area. We would highly recommend this place to anyone else and would love to stay there again! Thank you for a wonderful visit!

We recently spent 3 days at the Shem Creek Inn during our first visit to the Charleston area. Hotels in the downtown area were too costly and we found the Inn to be an excellent alternative as well as very convenient. It was apparent that the Inn had been renovated with beautiful, updated furnishings in spacious rooms. Our room faced the water and we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the boats, dolphins, and guests frolicking in the pool. The staff was so pleasant and helpful. Our only issue was the noise level of the air conditioning unit in our room. It was disturbingly loud and we found it difficult to sleep (my boyfriend had to wear his earplugs in order to sleep). We could not hear the TV over the A/C.

I would highly recommend the Inn for the location, convenience, staff and accomodations!

this is our secound stay at the inn and it will not be our last. we had a great time and recommend it to anyone. the only thing they need to do is pave the parking lot as we had a big rain one night and its hard to get around the puddles to your car but not a big deal and thanks.

We just returned from our stay at the Inn and we are missing it already!! Our room was clean and spacious, linens were fresh and the pillows were to die for. We slept fabulously!!! We went to the beach but loved coming back to the Inn and hanging at the pool for the rest of the day and into the night. Loved the dolphins and the creek action. We had a wonderful, relaxing, fun stay. The employees, Christopher and Casey were super kind and went out of their way to help us with any questions and local info that we needed.
We will DEFINITELY be back…. We can’t wait! We love the Shem Creek Inn!!

This was our first visit to the Charleston area we were visiting our nephew and he suggested we stay in Mt. Pleasant. This was a great place to stay in fact we ended up staying one more day. I loved this hotel it was in a great location and everyone was so helpful especially Casey at the front desk she gave us a lot of information and we plan to visit again for sure. We stayed on the marsh side but we will stay on the other side for our next visit the view on that side is great. I cant stop talking about this place the Shem Creek Inn was a great choice for us…..
